When Your Back Goes Out – Where Does it Go?

The last 2 days I’ve had to refer to number 28 and 30 of my list of things I learned. My stupid back decided to go out. Way out. Basically I’ve been bed ridden since Sunday. When I do hobble around I’m doing a good impression of the hunchback of Notre Dame. Because I seem to always have to be different I don’t have the usual lower back malady. Occasionally one of my ribs decides to slip out of joint and it feels like someone is stabbing me in the back. How weird is that?

So I’m riding it out. Mr. Husband helped me hang myself yesterday. I bought this teeter totter machine where I can hang myself upside down from my feet. It seems to take the pressure off my outraged spinal units. Since I can’t take this huge contraption on the road with me I will need find the nearest playground so I can hang by my knees from the monkey bars. Fortunately this does not happen often.

I don’t know what I did this time. It just goes out sometimes. I think it might have started when I slipped on an unsecured drop cloth Mr. Grandson had in the hall way. When I slipped, I jerked to keep from falling and the old muscles went into a spasm that set off a chain reaction. Oh well. Stuff happens.

As a result of this nonsense, sometimes I have no choice but to stop everything and vegetate. I always find it rather amazing that the world just goes right on revolving without my supervision. This morning I am able to walk around and look semi-normal. It’s time to get back on the merry-go-round.
